Welcome friends,

In June of 2010 two minds came together to form something new.

Recognizing the need for transition to a regenerative culture, Aro Ha is attempting to bridge the lofty distance between where we are and where we need to go.   Aro Ha will be a retreat center that supports physical health through invigorating movement while supporting emotional health through various introspective techniques.  All hosted in a cutting edge facility that models current best practices in sustainable architecture and off-the-grid self-sufficiency.

From the Te Reo Māori of Aotearoa, New Zealand:

▪   ‘Aroha’ translates to, the force of love that pervades all.

▪   ‘Aro’ means thought, or focus.

▪   ‘Ha’ means life force, breath, or energy.

▪   So, Aro-Ha; thoughtful breath, focused life force.

The center will be available to international educators, and any socially conscious group that values our offerings. It will host retreats led by teachers of Yoga, Philosophy, Pilates, Rolf Movement, Massage, Dance, Permaculture, etc.

The leaders of each retreat will construct a program of their choosing.  Augmenting their teachings with a selection of activities from the Aro Ha movement schedule, which will include hiking, nutritional education, pilates, yoga, permaculture, dynamic movement, and resistance training.

On top of that, meals will be locally sourced from onsite organic gardens.  The guest experience will include connecting with their food through hands on experiences.  Exploring seasonal menus, and their positive effect on our health.
